For the future, the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce will continue to represent its membership by providing a strong unified voice for business and industry. It will continue to be the most effective networking and business resource organization in the community.
We will continue to focus on a number of areas in order to strengthen the value of membership. For example, based on conversations with members...we have identified opportunities to provide professional development programs for member employees.
In the end, our focus for the future of your Chamber of Commerce is to focus on the member needs. We will look to you for feedback. We will address your concerns and requests. We will be membership-focused. This will guide our growth and therefore create a positive commercial environment to enhance our quality of life.
Our vision is to increase the value to our members by providing value for their investment through collaboration, relationship building, commercial enhancement and growth.
But, if you just stop and think and look around you, and see all the good things that have happened, and realize that there has been a lot of work by a lot of dedicated people behind every one of them, that leaves one question: who is the “we” that does all this. “We” are “you” the people of the community and all your business neighbors who are members of the Chamber of Commerce. The “we” and “you” provide the ideas, the drive, the goals, the funds and the voluntary service to keep the Chamber going. And then the question comes up: “Who would do it if the Chamber didn’t?”
What if there was no Chamber?
- There would be no office to respond to the inquiries about your products and services.
- There would be no center to inform the business community and advise it of current events affecting them.
- There would be no forum wherein the business community can exchange views and positions, and no voice to express those to other agencies.
- There would be no focal point for social gathering of the business community wherein an exchange of ideas and services may take place.
- There would be no political voice to keep our elected representatives aware of the business community’s feelings on legislative action and needs.
If there were not a Chamber of Commerce, chances are you would be among the forerunners of a group to establish a Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks for making a difference.
