Chicagoland Safety Health and Environmental Conference

The Chicagoland Safety Health and Environmental Conference is being held September 18-21, 2017 at the Naperville campus of Northern Illinois University. Conference attendees include Business owners and managers, plant managers, professional and civic association members, municipalities, consultants, Risk Management professionals, Project Managers, Loss Control Specialists, safety committee members, HR managers, corporate executives, shop foremen, lawyers, and professional trainers.

The Chicagoland Safety Health and Environmental Conference is the once a year premier training event for timely and expert training for OSHA/EPA compliance, general safety, industrial hygiene, environmental management and professional development.  Each year since 1988, hundreds of people attend the conference.  The 2016 conference drew over 400 people from 17 states and 89 Illinois communities.

The Chicagoland Safety Health and Environmental Conference offers a wide range of topics relating to General Safety, Environmental Management, OSHA/EPA compliance, Industrial Hygiene and Professional Development. Training sessions and workshops are 1.5 hours, 3 hours or all day and provide basic, intermediate and advanced level training.  Presenters include OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialists, university professors, lawyers, consultants, safety professionals, business owners, professional trainers, business and industry professionals a, and others who have extensive knowledge and experience. The 2016 conference session attendance was almost 1,800 people and the average class size was 21 people.   

This year’s wide ranging training topics include Safety Impact on Insurance Cost, OSHA Recordkeeping Rule, Clean Air Basics, Employment Testing, Temporary Workers, Illinois EPA’s New Industrial Stormwater Permit, Are You Complying with OSHA, OSHA Inspections and Reporting Requirements, Import/Export Rules, Substitutions Gone Bad, Active Shooter, The Cop and the Convict any many more.  A complete list of the 75+ topics can be found at www.chisafetyconf.org. The Business EXPO on Wednesday features business owners and vendors from across the US as they showcase their latest products and services.  An evening networking social with hors d’oeuvres follow the Business EXPO.  Mr. Robert Sams travels from Australia to present the Keynote Address at the Thursday luncheon.  Mr. Sams has more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of risk, safety, and organizational culture.  Copies of his new book, Social Sensemaking, will be available.

Wellness Works 2016

Employers large and small are invited to take part in Wellness Works 2016, a conference focusing on improving the health of their employees.

Wellness Works 2016, sponsored by the Healthy Living Council of Greater Aurora, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave. in Aurora.

The conference will inform employers about the importance of promoting healthy living in the workplace. Healthy living practices for corporate and small businesses, social service organizations, schools, government agencies and other places of employment will be explored.

A worksite wellness panel, made up of representatives from local and regional employers, will address employee assistance programs, work-life balance, worksite health initiatives, program implementation, and issues facing small employers and large-scale businesses.

Guest speakers, a variety of health and business-related exhibitors, and networking opportunities will be offered.

The registration fee of $25 includes lunch.
