Six Ribbon Cuttings in 30 Minutes

Tuesday, June 25th, 2013

burgess

Please join us for a beer and a celebration of not one, not two, but SIX new and newly expanded businesses at Aurora Corporate Center.  We will be gathering at 1585 Beverly Court #105 at 3:00 p.m. this Thursday, June 27, and walk over to each new business with Mayor Weisner at approximately 3:30 p.m. for individual ribbon cutting ceremonies and photo opportunities.  You can park in front or in back of the building.  We hope to see you then.  Let us know if we can count you in!  RSVP to 630-585-0021 or Becky@BurgessCommercial.com.

Tom Burgess, Founder and CEO of Burgess Commercial Real Estate, is hosting a group ribbon cutting at Aurora Corporate Center on June 27 starting at 3:00 pm. Burgess is the developer of Aurora Corporate Center, one among several business parks he has developed in the I-88 corridor. Burgess said nine companies have moved in or expanded their business space within the last 18 months, leaving just two lots and 11,000 square feet in existing inventory with two new buildings planned for late 2013 delivery.

“It will be a fun afternoon”, Burgess said, “celebrating the success of each of these businesses. Aurora’s Mayor Weisner will be attending as well as Chamber of Commerce and City officials, friends, family and colleagues of each of the six businesses currently lined up for the group event.”

New or newly expanded businesses include:

AIR802 manufactures high quality equipment and goods for both the wired and wireless industries.

CENTA is a leading producer of flexible couplings for industrial and marine applications, for power generation and rail applications.

Collins and Company is a distribution, engineering, design, and installation firm providing turnkey finishing systems and individual system components (i.e., ovens, washers, conveyors, air make-up systems, VOC abatement equipment, paint supply and circulation systems, spray booths and powder application and recovery systems)

Facility Supply Systems, Inc. is a full line packaging, janitorial equipment and supply distributor providing solutions to the Chicagoland Region and across the United States since 2000.

Flooring Connection has over 25 years in the flooring industry; servicing the high end custom home market and light commercial industry.

Legislature Called Back for Special Session on June 19
Due to the State’s General Assembly’s inability to come up with a solution to the public pension crisis, our state’s credit rating has been downgraded by two rating agencies: Moody’s and Fitch Ratings. At the time of this report, Standard & Poor’s has yet to downgrade Illinois; however, they have stated that Illinois “is approaching a precipice from a credit standpoint” because it failed to deliver on public pension reform and warns Illinois could fall into the “triple-B” category which is on the low end of investment grade.

Governor Pat Quinn has exercised his executive authority and has called the legislature back in for a special session on June 19. Yet, no deal on public pension reform has been reached. Governor Quinn attempted to hold a meeting with the Democrat legislative leaders earlier this week, but Madigan did not attend.

To keep up-to-date on action during Special Session and other legislative action, join our Facebook page by clicking here.
