In conjunction with Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois (March 5-11, 2017), the State of Illinois will conduct its Annual Statewide Tornado Drill at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7. If severe weather is possible on March 7, the drill will be rescheduled. The City of Aurora’s Office of Emergency Management encourages everyone to participate in this drill. This drill provides an excellent opportunity for facilities to review and test their severe weather preparedness plans and procedure.
Follow the link in this letter to a user friendly form the Aurora Emergency Management Agency is requesting each school, business, or facility complete and submit. Total time to complete should be less than five minutes.
The Aurora Emergency Management Agency is available for site surveys, severe weather plan review, and to provide severe weather presentations.
The below link should take you right to the form. If the form does not open, please copy and paste the URL in the address bar of your browser. Another option is to visit the City of Aurora website, go to the Emergency Management tab, home page, and at the lower right of the page is a link for the Statewide Tornado Survey.
Thank you in advance for your participating in such an important drill. If you have questions or would like to request support or review of preparations, contact Joseph Jones, CEM, emergency management coordinator with the City of Aurora at EMA@aurora-il.org or by calling (630) 256-5800.
