Dr. William A. “Bill” Marzano holds a Doctor of Education degree in post-secondary Curriculum and Instruction and has enjoyed a diverse career in adult education. He first served as a Psychology professor at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby for ten years, where he taught General Psychology and Human Relations in the World of Work.
He transitioned to the private sector and served as Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Training at Solar Communications, a large graphic arts enterprise in Naperville for 15 years. He developed and delivered a variety of customized training programs, including a management and leadership curriculum. In 1997, he was recognized as the “Graphic Arts Trainer of the Year.”
He returned to higher education in 2000 and served in several academic dean and assistant vice president positions at Waubonsee Community College for fifteen years. He was involved with in-service training for the Waubonsee administrative team and regularly taught Management 210 – Supervisory Management.
Since his retirement from Waubonsee, he has regularly taught Business 3250 - Human Resource Management at Aurora University and an all-day seminar titled Super-worker to Supervisor at the Illinois Institute of Technology/ Wheaton Campus.
Dr. Bill is a past Chamber Board Chairman, Board and Executive Committee Member, and is a current Chamber Ambassador. He has published more than fifteen articles in a variety of professional journals and has presented at more than twenty professional conferences throughout the United States. He has been interviewed on CBS Radio Network News and NBC Radio Network News. His specialty is leadership and management development for middle and senior management levels. Dr. Bill is passionate about servant leadership, and with his expertise, he hopes to support the Chamber as a catalyst for business success in the Aurora and North Aurora region.
